Dear Family and Friends
My name is Crystal Troeger and I am Stephan Brandt's sister in law and Auntie to Christian and Irayna. We were all saddened to learn that Stephan passed away suddenly on June 27th, 2020. He took his own life while coping through personal struggles and impacts of Covid-19.
As the details of the tragedy unfolded many of us rushed to try to help him but were too late. May he now be in peace at the side of God.
Stephan (Steve) leaves behind two wonderful children, Christian and Irayna. They are smart, courageous, and beautiful souls from the inside out. They, like all of us, are confused about losing him. We can all try to imagine what it may feel like for them right now but we can’t, the pain is so profound. They are doing their very best at trying to find their new normal. With the support of their loving mother Tina, family and friends they will heal, but it will be a long and twisty road.
Steve touched so many people in his life. A lot of his friends and family are wishing to send their condolences along with flowers and gifts. For many reasons we have requested that instead of flowers and gifts that you consider donating to an educational trust fund for Christian and Irayna. Their future education is important, they're smart and ready to influence our world in so many ways. Steve would be proud to see his kids achieve their post-secondary dreams.
I ask you to help me create a movement to honour Steve and bring comfort to his children knowing there are funds set aside for their future. Let’s make this happen for them together.
I found some photos and videos of Steve during the last months that were on his phone. I compiled the video above so that you can watch and smile along with Steve. He was a phenomenal soul and I miss him immensely as you all will.
